SURFACE PREP LIVE: You’re Invited to The Preparation Group Open Day

The Preparation Group is opening the doors of its Lincoln headquarters and purpose-built Training School for Surface Prep Live 2026, a practical Open Day for anyone working with, specifying, hiring or purchasing mechanical surface preparation equipment.  

Rather than simply seeing machines on display, visitors will be able to see surface preparation processes working live, compare different approaches and speak directly to The Preparation Group’s experienced technical team about the jobs, surfaces and challenges they encounter on-site every day.

Come with a question. Leave with a plan.

Visitors are encouraged to bring along photos, specifications, upcoming project details or a particularly troublesome floor.

The team will be on hand throughout the day to discuss suitable preparation methods, machinery, tooling and potential solutions.

Live demonstrations will take place throughout the day, covering processes including:

  • Coating removal
  • Carpet and vinyl removal
  • Bitumen and adhesive removal
  • Concrete grinding
  • Shotblasting and concrete preparation
  • Steel surface preparation
  • Edgework
  • Tooling and machine selection
  • Final polishing and burnishing demonstrations

Visitors can book in advance to see a particular demonstration or process, making the day especially useful for anyone currently considering machinery or planning a project.  

Those who simply want to explore the Training School, see the fleet and meet the team are equally welcome to drop in at any point between 10am and 3pm.

The Open Day will also provide an opportunity to explore The Preparation Group’s wider equipmentrange, compare different machines and preparation methods, and discuss sales, hire, servicing, repairs, training and Project Solutions with the relevant members of the team.

Representatives from TYROLIT will also be joining The Preparation Group during the event, giving visitors additional access to product knowledge and technical expertise.

For anyone considering an equipment investment, there will also be event-only offers available on the day, alongside opportunities for more detailed one-to-one demonstrations and discussions. And because no good Open Day should run entirely on dust extraction and coffee, lunch and refreshments will be provided for visitors too.
